We hired Armond Mkhitarian of lst Class Contracting to gut renovate a luxury landmark townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, with an addition of the fifth floor and a finished basement. The project involved everything, from steel beam framing, plumbing and electric, to intricate crown moldings and cabinetry. 1st Class Contracting and it’s owner Armond Mkhitarian bid, built and completed a significant home re-model and extension for me in 2013. It included 2 bed, 1 bath extension over the garage and a complete refinishing of the basement as well as a new roof and re-siding of the entire house. 1st Class was the first to submit a bid on the job. The bid was detailed and clear. They worked well with the Architect an brought quality specialty subs (plumber, HVAC and electric) to the site. The greatest attributes are Armond is that he is a hands on owner and manager that cares about the quality. He was at the job site all the time. His crew are on time, clean, respectful and professional (no drinking, no smoking, no inappropriate language or behavior). The job was on schedule at about 6 months and Armond’s crew showed up every day and sometimes on weekends to complete. There were no scheduling problems or long delays that are common with most GC’s. If I ever had a question or concern I could call Armond and he would personally pick up the telephone and address it without excuses and without delay (day or night). I know this sounds too good to be true but 1st Class takes pride in their product. He was not the cheapest but was very competitive and in this case I got what a paid for which was great service. No nickel and diming and no shifty behavior. I will use him again and definitely recommend them to others.”
l purchased a commercial condominium space four years ago and I had a modest budget left over to do a build-out. I spoke with Armond and explained my ideas, and he instantly understood my vision. He suggested things to complete the build-out that I would never have thought of doing but that accomplished my goals economically and efficiently. The work was done on-time, on-budget, and with a pride in workmanship that is priceless. Everyday I have patients tell me how beautiful my office space is. I couldn’t be happier with the level of quality of 1st Class Contracting’s work!!! That’s why I’ve hired them for another renovation! , They gutted and renovated my NYC apartment from top to bottom, and I couldn’t have asked for a better job. I wasn’t sure if their work would live up to my standards, but it was above and beyond what I’d hoped for! Everything was flawless, from the painting and molding, to the installation of the kitchen cabinets, granite, and appliances, to the tile work on the bathroom wall and floor. And they kept their word; they started and finished the job within the time frame promised.
I have embarked on another renovation for my current NYC apartment and am thrilled to be working with 1st Class Contracting again. This time around the project requires a lot of cumbersome paperwork.
